I went out with the Richmond Photography Meetup Group last night to Powhatan and did some star trails. It was really cold but definitely worth it.
They started serving stew at 1pm. Red Oak Stew Crew ran out in 15 minutes!
I was hooked from the moment I picked up my first camera. I can't really remember when photography wasn't important to me. As a kid I would always play with my camera. Poloroids, toy cameras, my Dad's Nikon EM (which I still have today). Always watching my Dad shooting me from the side lines of sports games. In high school I was introduced to the darkroom. I was in love. There were a few years that went by where I didn't pick up a camera. That was the time in my life that cameras started finding me. Digging through my Mom's house a Nikon N90 found me and so the journey restarted. The day that Nikon found me would bring me to the realization that photography was at that time and still is my passion. Snowboarding is a close second. I have been fortunate enough to shoot all over the country, capturing emotion and showcasing beauty that can slip past unnoticed. While digital is now my preferred medium, I enjoy using mediums such as Holga, Black and White, Medium Format, and 35mm. One thing is for certain....photography is something that I will always have a passion for and I will never stop learning.
